LVAC to Host Open House For New Members   (06/01/2009)

The Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps is planning an Open House for potential new members on Tuesday, June 30, at 6:30 PM at LVAC Headquarters, 777 Route 35, in Cross River. Anyone interested in joining the LVAC team is invited to attend this informational session, where you will meet LVAC members, have a cup of coffee, and see first hand the Corps' ambulances and recently renovated quarters.

"While we greatly appreciate our community's generous financial support, especially in these difficult times, equally critical to our continued ability to serve our neighbors is the availability of volunteer EMTs, Drivers, and First Aiders," Commented LVAC Captain Karen Barber. She urges people in Lewisboro to, "consider volunteering their time to join a wonderfully diverse group of their neighbors -- men, women, bankers, teachers, retirees, housewives, tradesmen and junior members." She explained that no experience is necessary. All training will be provided, including First Aid, CPR, and specialized training for anyone who wants to become a driver. LVAC will also sponsor any member who wishes to become a NY State Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

For details call Captain Karen Barber (914-763-9633), Asst. Captain Bob Stoddard (914-763-3589), or Vice President Jim Reilly (914-763-5346) for any further information regarding membership or the Open House.
